Dream is (un)clear
2017
The neon text is a phrase in Russian ‘dream is unclear’ with a consistently flickering prefix ‘un’. Initially it was created for an exhibition titled ‘Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear‘, which is a borrowed line from a hit ‘March of Enthusiasts’ (1940). This line was soon censored due to ‘unclearness’ in its message. The neon sculpture is just a game with the word ‘clear’, which, together with a description of a dream, in Russian defines a quality of light.
